WARRANTY POLICY.
1. OVERVIEW
All Dirty4x4 products are backed by warranties that meet or exceed the guarantees required under Australian Consumer Law. Our goal is to ensure every DirtyBars product performs as intended, with reliable support in the unlikely event an issue arises.
Our warranty applies to the original purchaser only and is non-transferable.
2. WARRANTY PERIOD
DirtyBars Electric Retractable Sidesteps are covered by a 1 Year Limited Warranty from the date of purchase.
This warranty covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship when the product has been correctly installed and used under normal operating conditions.
3. WHAT'S COVERED
Our warranty covers:
- Manufacturing defects in materials or workmanship
- Faulty motors or Smart ECU caused by manufacturing defects
- Electrical component failures under normal use
- Defects affecting the normal operation of the electric sidesteps
If a fault occurs within the warranty period and the product has been installed and used correctly, Dirty4x4 will, at its discretion, repair, replace, or refund the product.
4. WHAT'S NOT COVERED
This warranty does not cover damage or failures resulting from:
- Incorrect installation or wiring
- Failure to follow the supplied installation instructions
- Improper use, abuse, negligence, or misuse
- Vehicle accidents, collisions, or impact damage
- Using the sidesteps as rock sliders, jacking points, or impact protection
- Modifications to the product or mounting system
- Long-term water immersion or exposure beyond the product's intended use
- Damage caused by external forces, road debris, or environmental conditions
- Incorrect routing of wiring near heat sources or moving components
- Intentional short-circuiting or electrical damage caused by human error
- Swing bracket damage caused by impact or external force
- Normal cosmetic wear and tear, including scratches, chips, or fading
Any product that has been disassembled, modified, repaired, or tampered with by an unauthorised third party will void warranty coverage.
If the supplied mounting brackets are modified, cut, welded, or altered in any way, warranty coverage will be void. Products installed without modifying the supplied brackets remain covered under warranty; however, Dirty4x4 cannot accept responsibility for alignment or fitment issues resulting from custom installations.
5. HOW TO MAKE A WARRANTY CLAIM
If you believe your DirtyBars product is faulty, please contact our team before removing or repairing the product.
Please email sales@dirty4x4.com.au with:
- Your proof of purchase
- A description of the issue
- Photos and/or videos clearly showing the fault
- Your vehicle make, model, and year
We may request additional information or ask for the product to be returned for inspection before assessing the claim.
6. CLAIM RESOLUTION
Once your warranty claim has been assessed:
- Approved claims will be repaired, replaced, or refunded at Dirty4x4's discretion.
- Replacement products will be the same model or a functionally equivalent product if the original is no longer available.
- Refunds, where applicable, will be issued to the original payment method.
Customers are responsible for return shipping costs unless the product is confirmed to have a manufacturing defect. Where a warranty claim is approved, Dirty4x4 may cover the cost of shipping the replacement product.
7. AUSTRALIAN CONSUMER LAW
Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if they fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.
This warranty is provided in addition to your rights and remedies under Australian Consumer Law.
